Huge megapixles are coming in little handheld cameras these days. For under three hundred dollars I found the A710 ($259.99 as of this writing) to be a great value. Although 7.1MP is larger enough for huge reprints, most people won’t use it for such hi-resolution photos. At the same time the hi-res feature keeps those 4×6 pictures looking great. From what I’ve seen, most people looking for a point-and-shoot camera–especially when they are thinking about the Canon PowerShot series, wind up choosing this model. Since I have larger hands, I think the body style would also be more fitting. Amazon.com has about 30 sample images taken by customers. I find the sample shots a great help when evaluating new cameras.

I noticed on Amazon.com today the iPod Nano was on their top seller list. I also noticed customer reviews give the iPod Nano 2GB four out of five stars (out of 150 reviews). For $149 its a great way to get yourself into the latest iPod technology (versus $399). Most of the customer reviews I’ve read about the Nano are from lighter users–people who just want to have a CD Player-like experience. In other words they’re not looking for a portable multimedia player. They just want to listen to music. For that, the Nano is great–just plug in your headphones and press play. No fuss, no hassle. Ok, so its not an iPod. But consider this, there are other affordable MP3 players out there besides Apple iPod’s. If you’re a Windows user for example, maybe you want a player which integrates more seamlessly with Window’s Media player. Another compelling reason for an iPod alternative is the price tag: $119.99. In case you’re worried about not having iTunes for music downloads, be encouraged, there are plenty of alternatives: MTV’s Urge, Rhapsody, Yahoo!, MSN Music, MusicMatch, MusicNow, Napster, Wal-Mart Music Downloads.

There’s plenty of options out there for iPod headphones. Many of those options can be pricey. The pricier opins tend to be the ear buds which are noise canceling. Personally, I listen to my iPod while I’m at work (to drown out the distractions–usually co-workers or noisy office neighbors). One reason I don’t buy the noise-canceling ear buds is their price. Tired of getting your beautiful iPod all scratched up? Yeah, me too. That’s why a good case is more important. I take my iPod everywhere. That means its in and out of my pocket and bags. In the process it gets all scuffed upped. GPS Navigation devices are branching out, and becoming more affordable. Thee was a day when you had to spend more than a thousand dollars to get a decent device. Not only that, it had to be installed into your car. That made it even more of a hassle. Then, to make matters worse, you’d have to keep it updated with discs, etc. GPS devices are getting much smarter. They can do more than just navigate. Smarter, more versatile device is exactly what you’ll get with the Garmin c330.

Last time I looked you can’t find a better deal than a 5MP camera for $139.95 (at least that was the price last time I checked Amazon.com). Since I edit on the fly, I love the big LCD this camera has. I want to see a big image right when the the shot is complete. I usually demand at least a 2.5 inch screen. The V10 packs a gigantic 3 inch display!

I own a Canon Powershot. I think they’re great. We have a nicer digital SLR too, but we like to keep a point and shoot camera available for those quick trips. You never know when you’re going to want to catch the 10 month old’s first steps.

Saw this yesterday in a magazine ad. I was intrigued because its so small and portable. It does quite a lot by itself: gps, mp3s, etc. You can take it off its stand and carry it around. Amazon.com has some cool customer pictures.
